Section 71 of the Indian Contract Act 1872 says that, a person who finds goods belonging to another, and takes them into his custody, he is called "finder of goods". His position is same to that of a bailee. Responsibilities of finder of goods are same as a bailee.
Responsibilities of Finders of goods :
1) Duty to reasonable care (Section 151 of I.C.A)
2) Duty not to make unauthorized use (Section 154 of I.C.A)
3) Duty to return (Section 160 of I.C.A)
4) Not to mix goods with his own
5) Liability for any loss, destruction or deterioration (Section 161)
